NorWester Engagement Session: Tavia and Alan

I’m Allison.
Welcome to my blog! This is where I'll share past weddings, my favourite wedding tips, and sometimes I'll even throw in some sage photography advice or a personal blog post or two.

After picking up a DSLR for the first time, I began to see the world a little differently; I began noticing the beauty of the little things in life! The sunset I was too busy to notice, the flowers I ignored, and the way the light interacted with everything around us suddenly became the things I most appreciated. One of the things I’d never noticed before was how absolutely beautiful the stretch of highway between here and the border is!

When Tavia told me that her and Alan wanted to do their engagement session at the Norwester I was so excited to get to share one of my favourite spots with a couple who had a true connection to the area! Just a little over a month ago, at the spot where they first met, Tavia stood at the end of a path lit by lanterns. At the other end of that path were big, bright letters that said Marry Me, beckoning Tavia in to her own fairytale, one where, after walking through the snow, past the lanterns, Alan was waiting on the other side to ask her one of the most important questions a girl can be asked and it wasn’t “would you like some ice cream?” It was a questions even better than that! He spoke aloud the words that Tavia had been looking at, anticipating, as she made her way down the path. “Will you marry me?”

Thankfully she said yes! Because of that I got to spend Saturday evening with such a sweet, kind couple in the area that means so much to the both of them! After their pictures we went to the Norwester and had a drink to warm up before going back out for a couple more photos!

I can’t wait to get to spend New Years Eve with these two as they say I do and officially become husband and wife! Only 11 months to go! <3
