It was her birthday but she hadn’t wanted to go out that night. She had to work in the morning and wanted to relax at home. Can’t it wait until the weekend, she asked. Mike insisted that it couldn’t. Reluctantly, Kelly joined Mike for a night at the Prince Arthur Hotel and as she left the house that night she couldn’t have imaged what was going to meet her when she got to the hotel. Amidst rose petals, Mike got down on one knee and gave Kelly one of the best birthday presents a girl could dream of. He asked Kelly to be his wife!
I first met Kelly and Mike over coffee a few months ago and I knew the moment that I met them that we were going to get along great! They are both such sweet individuals and It’s always exciting to meet a fellow nurse; unfortunately for Mike this meant that we chatted quite a bit about nurse life (although with his easy going attitude I’m sure he didn’t mind!)
Kelly hasn’t always been a nurse. Her and Mike met while they were working in Alberta for an oil company. They fast became friends and one day, after Kelly’s vehicle broke down Mike offered to fix it. Kelly knew then that she wanted to be with him and while she didn’t take him up on the offer that time Mike now has a lifetime of fixing vehicles for Kelly ahead of him!
I had a blast photographing Kelly and Mike spending the evening with them! Summer is finally here and we got to take full advantage of the beautiful weather! Kelly and Mike completely owned their session and I loved getting to see them together! Kelly has an infectious laugh and a great sense of humour and Mike knows how to put a smile on her face and keep it there!
In just over a month we will be doing it all over again at their wedding and I just know it’s going to be a blast!
