They say there’s a first for everything and Jen and Blake were my first couple to have a two-part engagement session. What’s a two part engagement session, you ask? It’s what happens when the forecast says there’s only an 18% chance of rain, you figure you should be okay so you hike into the Cascades and just as you are really getting in to the rhythm of the session it starts raining forcing you to abandon your session, reschedule, and cross your fingers really hard for better weather at your next session!
We probably could have just called it quits when the rain started because Jen and Blake are naturals but I didn’t want rain to be their only experience with engagement pictures and I am glad we decided to try again at a later time! While it won’t be added to the a la carte many anytime soon, I kind of loved getting to have a two-part engagement session because they mean double the locations, double the outfits, and most importantly, I got to spend nearly twice as much time with Jen and Blake!
I know the moment that we sat down for coffee that cold January evening that I liked Jen and Blake, a lot! They’re a beautiful couple inside and out and it was an absolute pleasure to get to spend not one, but two, evenings with them! You can see that they are made for each other; they fit together like two pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. It’s this feeling you get around them and I love it!
Jen and Blake, thank you for your easy-going personalities and giggling at all of the right moments, even when the rain was falling and for bringing those smiles back a second time! That’s what love is about though, isn’t it? Being there for each other even when the rain starts to fall and knowing that, if you hold on to each other long enough, if you wait it out and keep making each other smile even through the hard times that there will be sun (and peonies, and a chance to wear a second adorable outfit!)
I can’t wait for your wedding day to do this all again a third time! Except for this time, as you nuzzle in with your arms wrapped tight around each other you will be husband and wife!
