Fort William Historical Park Summer Wedding

I’m Allison.
Welcome to my blog! This is where I'll share past weddings, my favourite wedding tips, and sometimes I'll even throw in some sage photography advice or a personal blog post or two.

Wanna know something fun about this wedding? It was my first time photographing a wedding at Fort William Historical Park since the very first wedding I ever photographed.

A lot has changed since then, but a few things have remained the same: I still get nervous butterflies before every wedding I photograph and I still get giddy and excited the night before the wedding just knowing that I’m gonna be spending my day with an amazing couple and celebrating and capturing the love they have for one another.

Jessica and Eric’s wedding day was no different!

Jessica and Eric are such a sweet couple and were such a pleasure to work with! Their wedding day introduced me to some new experiences that, in the nearly 50 weddings I’ve photographed, I’d never had the pleasure of experiencing!

Usually, my couples choose one of two options for their wedding day: a traditional aisle moment or a first look (where they choose to see each other before the ceremony) but Jessica and Eric went with something that gave them the best of both worlds!

Jessica and Eric wanted to have a special moment with each other before the ceremony but they didn’t want to see each other before hand so we found a perfect spot that allowed them to hold hands, talk to each other, and exchange the letters they’d written for each other without having to see each other. The result was one of the sweetest moments I’ve seen on a wedding day! Despite the fact that they couldn’t see each other, their emotions of laughter, joy, and tears of happiness were at times, the exact same! I may have been tearing up behind my camera watching this intimate moment unfold.

Another thing that Jessica and Eric wanted for their wedding day was to surprise their guests during their ceremony so, just after being announced Mr. & Mrs. a canon blasted to celebrate the occasion! It was my first time ever seeing a canon being set off and I have to say that it is definitely one of the grandest and most unique ways to celebrate becoming husband and wife!

Jessica and Eric, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day! It was so much fun and I loved getting to see all of the ways that you made your wedding day your own! I wish you nothing but the best as you start this next chapter of your lives as husband and wife!

XO!
Allison
