Ashley and Brayden’s black and white wedding was the perfect blend of classic elegance and heartfelt emotion. From the very beginning, their day felt intentional, stylish, and deeply personal. While the weather proved unpredictable, it ultimately became part of what made their wedding so memorable.
At first, shifting conditions meant we needed to pivot plans for portraits. Fortunately, this is exactly why I always come prepared. I keep a trunk full of umbrellas for moments like this, and they ended up adding a timeless, romantic feel to the bridal party photos. Rather than taking away from the day, the weather encouraged us to slow down and get creative.
Because of that, we explored a few unexpected portrait locations. We utilized the restaurant space at the Delta Hotel, which gave us beautiful light and a refined atmosphere. Later, we captured intimate portraits in Ashley and Brayden’s hotel room. These quieter moments allowed them to relax, connect, and simply be present together. As a result, some of my favourite images I have ever taken came from this part of the day.
Both the ceremony and reception were held at The Chanterelle, providing a warm and elegant backdrop for every moment. From emotional vows to joyful celebrations, the space complemented their black and white wedding aesthetic perfectly.
In the end, this day was a reminder that when you embrace the unexpected, something truly special can unfold.
