Monica and Trevor quietly stood in the middle of the path the only sounds were of the creek rushing to the right of us and the wind ruffling the leaves. The wind gently blew Monica’s veil. Monica and Trevor were still in the pose I had guided them in to but their intractions were beautifully genuine. Trevor, with his quirky sense of humor, never has any difficulty making Monica laugh and, when she laughs, her smile makes him smile. It’s moment like these that are my favorite to capture, the moments where, if even for a few seconds, I don’t exist and the camera is all but forgotten.
My other favorite part of the day is getting to see my couples personalities come through in the details of their day. For Monica and Trevor, the cake cutting was a time for Monica, who has a slightly obsession with knives, to plan a surprise for her new husband!
Just as Monica and Trevor were getting ready to cut in the cake, Monica lifts up her beautiful satin gown revealing a sheath attached to her leg. Inside this sheath was a sword knife which they then used to cut the cake. Before smearing it on each other’s faces.
Monica and Trevor, thank you for inviting me to spend your big day with you! It was a beautiful day for an even more beautiful couple!
