When Ashley said she and Paul wanted to do their engagement session at Mackenzie Point I was so excited! Mackenzie Point is one of my favourite places in Thunder Bay and I still remember the first time I went there! It was only a few years ago and the moment I got there I wondered how I could have gone so long without knowing about such a place! I’d driven out there because of a picture I saw on a local photographer’s page, a picture which didn’t adequately prepare me for the beauty I was about to encounter the moment I stopped on to that magical outcrop of Canadian Shield. This spot still takes my breath away overtime I go there and I love when I get to share one of my absolute favourite places with my couples!
Ashley and Paul have been together for 7 years and since they met online they talked for months before ever meeting in person! The first time they met was on Paul’s 30th birthday at Black Pirates. Their first night together started with a kiss. The kiss. Because, with that one kiss, Ashley knew Paul was the one!
Before getting engaged, during that time between Paul getting the ring and asking Ashley to marry him, went a little differently than most. Ashley knew that she was going to be getting engaged and, instead of waiting for Pul to pop the question, she would secretly wear the ring when Paul wasn’t home; she even had to get it out of a well protected hiding spot to do so! When Paul finally asked Ashley to marry him she said yes (and with that was able to wear the ring all the time!)
I had such a fun time with Ashley and Paul this past Sunday evening and they totally rocked their session! In less than 2 months these two will officially will be Mr and Mrs. And I can’t wait for the big day!
